Opened in 2005, the temple was constructed under the guidance of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the leader of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).
Architecture: The temple is built using traditional Hindu architectural styles, with intricate carvings and craftsmanship. The central monument is made from pink sandstone and white marble, without the use of steel.
Main Features:
Mandir: The central temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan and features murtis (sacred statues) of deities like Radha-Krishna, Sita-Ram, and Lakshmi-Narayan.
Exhibitions: There are several exhibitions within the complex that use modern technology to illustrate themes of spirituality, Hindu philosophy, and culture. These include “Sahaj Anand Water Show,” an IMAX-like theater, and a boat ride showcasing 10,000 years of India’s cultural heritage.
Yagnapurush Kund: The temple complex contains the world’s largest stepwell, which also functions as a venue for the Sahaj Anand water show.
Cultural Importance: The temple serves not only as a place of worship but also as a cultural hub, promoting the values of peace, harmony, and devotion. It attracts millions of visitors every year.
